A rare chance to rent a house on one of Liverpool city centre's most iconic streets has become available, but could set you back £4,900 a month.

Rodney Street dates back to the 1780s and was once known as 'The Harley Street of the North'. It's Georgian terraces are now largely occupied by doctor's and dentist's offices but some homes remain.

One such space has been listed to let by Open House Estate Agents. The grade II-listed home boasts three bedrooms and one bathroom, with accommodation arranged over three floors.

The property is available on Zoopla for £4,900 per calendar month and comes partially furnished. The listing states it's available from mid-March and has undergone "design improvements" including new carpets, lighting and redecoration.

The kitchen/diner is located on the first floor

At its front, the striking property has stone steps and pillars guarding the front door. The layout is unique, with an office room and WC on the ground floor, as well as a spiral staircase peppered with original features.

The stairs lead to the first floor, which boasts two main reception rooms, a balcony, a kitchen/dining area and a laundry room. The second floor comprises three bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Standout features include period flooring, ornate coving, floor to ceiling sash windows and elegant fireplaces.

The property retains many of the historic features that gives it its charm, but modern touches include a glossy new bathroom with a walk-in shower and claw foot bath.

The view from the property's balcony

The home is also available as a holiday let and if tenants are planning to stay for up to three months, different terms and conditions apply, according to the listing.

It added: "The property is suitable for filming or commercials also. The place used to be hired by companies for photo shoots and filming on a daily basis and all equipment can be stored in the large garage space at the rear of the property."

The music room is perfect for pianists

It added the 'Great Music Room' is "ideal" for pianists and the agents can provide music bookings if required.

Rodney Street, together with Hope Street and Gambier Terrace, form the Rodney Street Conservation Area.

The street alone boasts more than 60 Grade II-listed buildings and one Grade II-listed church.
