A woman was left shocked after she was asked to swap seats with a fellow passengers "6 ft 4 son" on a plane.
As originally reported by the Mirror, content creator Surya Garg took to TikTok to share the story of her experience of flying with the woman, who she described as the "worst person to sit next to on an airplane".
Sparking an online debate about plane seat etiquette, the 23-year-old revealed she was asked to swap her window seat for a middle seat by a mum who was sitting next to her on the plane. The woman asked Surya if she could give up her seat, which she said she had paid extra for, so that she could sit next to her son.

Surya described the son as looking to be a "minimum of 16 or 17 years old." After being asked to move, Surya said: "where would you want me to switch to?"
The mum responded by pointed to a middle seat a couple of rows back. Surya then asked who her son was and the woman pointed at a "6ft 4 man."
She added: "I don't really know what to say, because I don't want to, and I don't think she deserves for me to, because this is definitely just a case of bad planning, and I don't want to look like an a**hole, but I don't think I'm the a**hole in this situation."
Surya went on to say that if it was a parent with a young child, she would have had no issue moving. She replied to the woman saying: "No, I'm sorry but I paid extra for this seat. I think I'm just going to sit in the seat I paid for."
She said the woman made the "nastiest face at me I've ever experienced" and kept "muttering profanities" at her during the flight. In the video, which has been viewed by more than 500,000 people at the time of publishing, Surya asked fellow TikTok users if they thought she was in the wrong, with many supporting her decision.
One person wrote: "The way she reacted to you is precisely why you should not give up your seat. Good job for sticking up for yourself." Other people said that when asking someone to swap with you, you should "always give up the better seat."
Someone else added: "I will ONLY ever switch for an upgrade (closer to the front, middle to window), etc." Travel booking site Expedia even commented in support of Surya, saying: "Not in the wrong."
Another person said: "No you weren't. I'm a mum. I have daughters aged 11 and 14. When we fly, I pay extra for us to sit together. Every time. Because it's my responsibility [sic]."
