A woman was rescued from the Albert Dock after falling into the water.
Emergency services were called to the docks just after 7.15pm following reports of an incident in the water. Once emergency services from Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service and coastguard arrived at the scene near Revolution de Cuba they found a woman had fallen into the water.
The woman was pulled from the water by emergency services and passed into the care of the ambulance service. There is no update on the woman’s condition at this time.

An ambulance under police escort was seen heading along The Strand from the Albert Dock using blue lights. There were around a dozen emergency service vehicles at the scene at the height of the incident.
A cordon was also put in place on the pavement surrounding Revolution de Cuba. Tourists and students who have just moved to the city said they were “confused” as they saw a number of emergency service vehicles turn up at the scene one by one.
One woman said: “It was crazy, we were just walking along and all these cars and vans with blue lights started pulling up just on the bridge. They got out and went straight into the inside of the docks.
“We were told somebody fell into the water but don’t know how serious it is. We saw the ambulance speed away so just hope the person is okay.”
Another person working in the area said: “It’s really sad, the response [of the emergency services] was very quick. As soon as the call was in it was minutes later they arrived.”
Police have said enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
