Corner shops and newsagents are an essential part of almost every community.
These convenience stores are a massive help in the lives of people throughout Liverpool and Merseyside, offering essentials needed on a day to day basis. Some will have been a constant since our childhoods, and many will likely still go to the same corner shop they went to as kids.
Not only are they helpful when in a pinch, they can also serve as a meeting place and those who run them can become ingrained in the local area as time goes by. In Liverpool alone there are dozens of them, some of which will become the subject of a new series to come from the ECHO.
