Merseyside Police has given an update on the condition of the three-year-old girl who fell from a car and into the path of a moving van.
Merseyside Police were called to Croft Retail Park in Bromborough, Wirral, following reports of a serious crash at around 4.10pm on Thursday, October 19. The ECHO understands the little girl fell from a Nissan Qashqai on Welton Road, near the Burger King, and was hit by a silver van.
The child was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries, and was described as being in a critical condition. The driver of the transit van stopped at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.

A 37-year-old woman from Leasowe has been arrested for drug driving and child protection related offences and was interviewed by officers.
Following the incident, a spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "Officers from Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit have arrested a 37-year-old woman from Leasowe following a serious road traffic collision in Wirral. The incident happened on Welton Road, Bromborough, at about 4.10pm, when a silver van has collided with a three year old child who had exited from a Nissan Qashqai.
"The driver of the transit van stopped at the scene and he is assisting police with the investigation. The woman was arrested for drug driving and child protection related offences and will be interviewed by officers."
Merseyside Police have now confirmed the little girl is still fighting for her life in hospital. Her condition is described as critical, but stable.
Police gave no update on the 37-year-old woman who was arrested.
Officers from the Roads Policing team carried out examinations at the scene and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any dashcam footage which could help with inquiries, is asked to contact the police.
