A UK high street bank is offering to give new customers a huge £205 each – for free.
HSBC wants people to sign up for its new Advance Account, which is said to offer "everything you need for everyday banking and much more". Banks offering switching "bribes" is nothing new, but with this account you don't actually need to move from another account to get the cash – you can have this one as well as your existing account.
To apply for an Advance Account, you must be 18 or over, live in the UK or EU and qualify for an (optional) arranged overdraft of at least £1,000.

To qualify for a £125 bonus you must deposit at least £1,500 within 60 days of the account opening, as well as making a minimum of five payments using your HSBC debit card. You'll also need to register and log on to the HSBC banking app and open an HSBC Global Money account and order a Global Money multi-currency debit card.
To then get your hands on a further £80, as well as being in with a chance of winning a huge £3,000, you'll need to make a minimum of five payments using the multi-currency debit card by April 21, 2024.
HSBC said you won't qualify for the offer if you've had a current account with HSBC or its sister bank First Direct since October 1, 2018.
