Two Liverpool takeaways have been slapped with food hygiene ratings of zero in recent inspections.
Babylon Kebab Pizza in Breckfield Road North and Buffalo Nice Pizza Ltd in Admiral Street in Liverpool 8 were both hit with the lowest rating possible for hygiene after visits from Liverpool Council's food standards teams.
Both premises were inspected on February 7 and the results have just been released, with both businesses scoring zero out of five for food hygiene.

A zero rating for food hygiene is a serious issue and means urgent improvement is necessary at both businesses. At Babylon Kebab Pizza the main issues concern the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage – where urgent improvement is required.
There is also major improvement required in the management of food safety and cleanliness and condition of facilities at the L8-based business.
At Buffalo Nice Pizza Ltd in Admiral Street, inspectors found major improvement was required in the hygienic food handling and management of food safety, while improvement is necessary in the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.
Food businesses in Liverpool are routinely inspected by local authority hygiene teams. A health officer will look at three criteria when inspecting a premises. These include how hygienically the food is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored, the cleanliness, layout, lighting and ventilation of the building and how the business manages what it does to make sure food is safe.
Each establishment receives their rating following an inspection conducted by a food safety officer from the council. A rating of zero means urgent improvement is necessary, one means major improvement is required while two means improvement is needed. A rating of three means the premises is generally satisfactory, four is good and five is very good.
The ECHO attempted to contact both businesses for responses.
