Below are some vegetarian and vegan restaurants you simply have to visit.

The Vibe

The Vibe boasts stylish decor and an interesting, exciting menu

The Vibe is a stylish vegan venue located in the city centre. Complete with a cosy interior boasting velvet seats and an abundance of shrubbery, it's a peaceful spot to kick back and relax.

It opened in autumn of 2020, against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, and offers a plant-based menu boasting vegan versions of eggs, tuna, salmon and more.

If you're after tasty, dippy eggs that are entirely plant-based, then The Vibe is the place to visit. The rest of the menu is equally as impressive with comforting pasta dishes, bagels and more.

Egg Cafe

The Egg Cafe in Liverpool city centre

When you think of Liverpool’s great vegetarian cafes, Egg is always up there, with its airy loft setting and exposed girders, mezzanine floor and gallery space offering a city centre retreat.

A hike up the stairs on Newington, just off Bold Street, Egg is still well worth a visit. With quirky decor, open mic nights, poetry readings and a hearty menu that's so varied and full, it’s a Liverpool institution.

It's not just vegetarian food on offer, there's also a wide range of vegan food.

Down the Hatch opened in 2018, as a vegetarian and vegan "junk food" restaurant. It's located in the city centre, down a set of blink-and-you'll-miss-them stairs on Duke Street. The restaurant boasts exposed brick walls and atmospheric mood lighting.

Its impressive menu has gained a loyal army of fans and just recently won the spot three nominations in the British Restaurant Awards and the England Business Awards

Maray

Maray, which has branches on Bold Street and at the Royal Albert Dock, is a must-stop-shop for self-declared foodies. Inspired by the flavours of the Middle East alongside incredible wine and bold, delicious cocktails.

One of the best things about Maray – aside from the copious amounts of food on offer – is that it's also carbon-neutral!

PICNIC

PICNIC has some of the best veggie food around

PICNIC didn't obtain the best in the North West title for no reason. Not only is everything on the menu delicious and great to look at, but all of it is also healthy and flips the idea of what fast food can be on its head.

Taking classics like loaded fries, shakes and burgers, PICNIC adds its own signature twist so eating out finally feels as good as it tastes.
