The Strand has been closed with immediate effect for "urgent repairs" following an inspection.

Liverpool City Council posted on social media on Wednesday, January 10, to warn motorists hoping to travel onto The Strand from Chapel Street, that the road would be closed. This follows an inspection of the junction, at George's Dock Gateway.

A spokesperson from Liverpool City Council said: "Road closure notice: Following an inspection, the junction of Chapel Street and The Strand, at George’s Dock Gateway, is now closed for urgent repairs. There will be no left turn onto The Strand.
