The 151st Open Championship is set to take place in Merseyside much to the excitement of golf enthusiasts.
This is the 13th time golf's oldest championship has been held at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, Wirral, with recent winners including the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
Based on Meols Drive, the club was founded in 1869 and was given the 'Royal' designation in 1871. It remains to be seen who will come out on top at the 2023 Open, though it promises to be a fascinating four-day event.

The arrival of The Open is also bound to inspire many people to plan golf trips to visit Royal Liverpool in 2024 According to the club, Hoylake makes the trickiest demands of a player’s shot selection, distance control and accuracy.

Single green fees cost between £215 and £265 depending on the time of year, while the price for a junior playing with an adult is £75-£100. Fourball ranges from £860 to £1060.
For beginners who are looking to learn to play at Royal Liverpool, the club also has a practice range and dedicated short game practice area. The club's tuition fees are as follows:
30 minute golf lesson – one adult: £35, junior: £20
one hour golf lesson with video analysis – one adult: £70, two adults: £80, junior £40
one hour short game skills – one adult: £60, two adults: £80, junior: £40
one hour trackman lesson – one adult: £75, junior: £65
