Suspected gunman, 19, named after shots fired at house

A suspected gunman has been named by police after shots were fired at a home.

Merseyside Police were called to Central Drive in West Derby at 8.20am on Tuesday, October 19, following reports of shots being fired. Once officers arrived at the scene they found damage to the window and wall of a home, believed to be caused by a gun.

A total of three men, aged 19, 30, and 34, were arrested by officers on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life. The 19-year-old, Anthony Milton of Peter Road, Walton, has now been charged by officers while the 30 and 34-year-old were conditionally bailed.

Milton appeared at Wirral Magistrate’s Court this morning, Wednesday, November 1, and has been remanded to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, November 29.
Detective Inspector John Mullen said: “Merseyside Police pro-actively investigates serious organised crime including the use of guns and the supply and distribution of drugs on Merseyside and is relentless in its pursuit of offenders. It is vital that members of our communities come forward with information so we can make our communities safer for the decent, law-abiding people who live in areas affected by gun crime.
“Where people are willing to support the police, we will ensure every possible avenue is progressed to protect them.
