It's been around 30 years since these photos were taken
Today is A-Level results day and students around the Liverpool and Merseyside area will find out whether they have got the grades they hoped for.
For years, students have passed through their sixth form or college gates for the final time in anticipation to open their results after months of studying. And this August is no different.
But as the next generation in our region head off to university, apprenticeships or new careers, we've delved into the archives to find these brilliant photos from Merseyside A-Level results day going back almost 30 years.

Taken between 1990 and 1999, these photos, courtesy of our archives Mirrorpix, have been unseen for years and show different cohorts from across Merseyside through the decade.
From groups shots to celebratory pints in the pub, you may spot a familiar face.
