A new Slimming World cake recipe was described as the "perfect teatime treat".
Cake can be enjoyed on any diet, as long as it is in moderation, however this healthy recipe makes it even easier to indulge without the guilt. The recipe is low in calories and fat, perfect for those on food-optimising plans.
Traditional cake recipes include lots of sugar, fats and sometimes chocolate. However, Slimming World has crafted a light alternative, reports the Daily Express. Even better than fruity banana bread, this Weetabix loaf combines juicy sultanas with the classic crumbly cereal biscuits.

200ml skimmed milk

Weetabix cake recipe
- Start with a preheated oven set to 180C (160C fan, gas 4), then line a 450g loaf tin with greaseproof baking paper.
- Combine the Weetabix and milk in a large bowl then leave to soak for two or three minutes before mashing with a fork.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the same bowl, ensuring everything is well combined by beating it all together.
- Once the mixture resembles a coherent cake batter, spoon it into the prepared loaf tin and leave it to bake in the oven for one hour.
- After this time, carefully remove the loaf from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.
- When the cake is much cooler and less likely to break, gently turn it out of the tin and slice it into 12 equal servings ready to enjoy.
