Shots fired at Toxteth home as police hunt men on electric bikes

A house was shot at by two men on electric bikes, causing damage to the property.

On Thursday, January 4 at around 8pm, a house on Arnold Crescent, Toxteth was damaged as two men armed with a gun opened fire. The suspects were said to have been riding electric bikes and no injuries have been reported.

Investigations are currently underway to find the shooters, and police are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage.

Chief Inspector Charlotte Irlam said: “Thankfully nobody was injured in this incident, but we are committed to finding those responsible and bringing them to justice.
“We understand the concern that these incidents will cause for our local communities, but please be reassured that we are determined to rid the streets of firearms and find those involved in serious organised crime.
“We relentlessly pursue those suspected as being involved in gun crime and we need the public to be our eyes and ears and tell us what they know so that we can take positive action.
“If you witnessed the incident, or who has doorbell footage, or any information which could help us with our inquiries to come forward. I would also like to appeal to any motorists who were in the area, who may have captured the incident on dashcam footage to get in touch.”
