Tonight's River of Light has been cancelled as Storm Ciaran continues to batter the region.
Liverpool City Council posted an update on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to let people know the popular event would be cancelled tonight due to "adverse weather conditions".
It comes as Storm Ciaran has hit Merseyside with heavy rain and strong winds.

The update from Liverpool City Council read: "Due to the adverse weather conditions, River of Light will not be taking place tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience caused, but hopefully we’ll be back tomorrow.
"Which means there’s still 3 more nights to check out this year’s amazing installations."
While wind will mainly affect southern areas, the yellow warning for rain will bring disruption to parts of England and Wales, including Merseyside.
The Met Office has forecast rain for Merseyside today, with downpours on the cards every hour of the day. Between 4pm and 5pm there's an 80% chance of rain, 6pm is a 60% chance, 7pm and 8pm is 80%, and for the rest of the evening the chances drop down to 50%.
