A 'rare' opportunity to buy a huge home in a coastal Merseyside village where similar properties sell for an average of £895,000 has come onto the market.

The five-bedroom, two-bathroom property is located on Cambridge Road in Churchtown, near Southport. The frontage is grand, with mock Tudor elements, pitched roofs and beautiful stained glass windows.

The house sits on a substantial spot, with a large front drive and a generous garden to the rear. Accommodation is spread over three floors and the interior boasts three reception rooms.

On entering there are a number of charming features including parquet flooring, ornate woodwork and coving, and panelled walls. There is also a window positioned in the space with ample room for bench seating underneath.

The stylish kitchen benefits from lots of natural light

Both lounges benefit from huge bay windows and give way to the open plan kitchen and diner at the rear of the house. The stylish space features a lot of dark wood and granite, with modern lighting, a central island and built-in luxury appliances such as a wine cooler.

Natural light floods in from skylights and the patio doors, which lead out to the garden.

The first floor has three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The spacious master suite is brought to life with an animal print feature wall and vibrant colours. It also boasts its own en-suite shower room. The second floor comprises the two remaining bedrooms.

The house is on the market with Purplebricks for offers in excess of £650,000. The estate agent said the house "falls in the catchment area of popular local primary and secondary schools" and is also a stone's throw from Hesketh Park and just one mile away from Meols Cop Station.

Purplebricks added: "It is within walking distance of the coastal road, Southport town centre and Churchtown village. This property will not be around for long."

According to Rightmove, the overall average price of a property on Cambridge Road was £159,600 over the last year. The figure is 7% higher than the previous 12 months, although 35% lower than the 2007 peak of £247,302.

However, detached homes on the road go for a whopping average of £895,000.
