It started with Playboy magazine, then came Baywatch, after that, the infamous sex tape which exploded around the world.

A mini series entitled Pam and Tommy, tells the story of their relationship and a stolen sex tape. I’ve just finished the new documentary ‘Pamela, a love story’.

It’s Pam like you’ve never seen her before. I am, of course, talking about Pamela Anderson.

Before you ask no, I’ve never seen the tape, but I have worked with Miss Anderson in panto in 2010. She was the genie in Aladdin at the Liverpool Empire – a show I will never forget.

On the first day of rehearsals we all had to line up to meet her – it was like royalty. When I was presented to her I actually curtseyed, as you do.

One thing I did hate was her entourage who constantly talked about her behind her back – you know the lady who was paying their wages.

When I got through them Pamela and I became good friends and I spent quite a bit of time with her.

The national newspapers weren’t kind to the panto because of what went before with her career, but we did wonderful business, especially with the fathers and grandfathers bringing their children and grandchildren to watch the show, whether they liked it or not.

The highlight for them was when Pamela came down the stage after being freed from the lamp. The outfit, designed by her late friend Vivienne Westwood, left nothing to the imagination.

It was like they’d forgotten it was panto.

She sang happy freedom to me with the Marilyn Monroe voice and the music to happy birthday.

The lady herself was under protection through the panto as she attracted some very strange stalkers, with one actually getting into her dressing room.

The Netflix documentary ‘Pamela, a love story’, was for me, sad. She was raped when she was young, abused and misunderstood.

I found the documentary refreshingly honest.

She’s been married five times, so she must love wedding cake. In the programme it talks about the notorious sex tape.

Her two sons Dylan and Brandon come over as her rock. She’s a determined lady, and can do anything she puts her mind to.

In 2022, she starred as Roxie in Chicago on Broadway. It was a challenge and the public loved her.

Thanks for being so honest, Pam. You’re a nice lady.
