As the cooler weather creeps in, shoppers may be looking to update their wardrobes for the new autumn season. And New Look has got just the piece that’s perfect for any wardrobe, whether you’re leaning into a capsule collection or have a more maximalist style.
The high street favourite has released a satin midaxi skirt that shoppers can’t wait to get their hands on. Available in seven stunning shades, some customers have already bagged it in multiple colours.
The fashion retailer shared the skirt on social media over the weekend, with Instagrammer Sydney Ellen Window styling the black version of the Satin Bias Cut Midaxi Skirt with a crop top, trainers and open white shirt for the ultimate monochrome look.

While some took offence at the trainers she styled, commenting “Why the dirty shoes?” and “Big no no with the trainers”, many loved the outfit, complimenting the long flowy skirt that also comes in grey, khaki, dark green, navy, red, burgundy and gold.
One said: “Wearing this skirt right now. Bringing it into Autumn with an oversized jumper and knee high boots,” while another added: “Love these satin skirts. Got the burgundy and just ordered navy.”
Over on the New Look website, the skirt has been praised by wearers who describe the skirt as ‘flattering’, adding that it ‘looks more expensive’ than its £25.99 price tag suggests. It’s currently got more than 80 reviews, with an average rating of 4.6 stars out of five.
Fashion fans have been particularly fond of the skirts high elasticated waist, making it ideal for days when you feel a little bloated or self conscious. One said: “Great skirt, elasticated waist is brilliant and true to size, very flattering on.”
Another added: “90's style making the comeback! Absolutely love it. I tried to order size 18 but they were sold out. I tried size 20 and glad I did. Elastic waist and smooth material hides my bumps.”
A third commented: “Flattering shape, lovely colour and elasticated waistband so easy to wear and comfortable.” One shopper did say it ‘takes a bit of fiddling to sit right’, but loved the length and material, rating it four stars.
New Look shoppers have even been giving some style inspiration in the comments, with one commenting: “This is such a beautiful skirt! I have a hard time finding skirts that suit me. I bought a jumper at NEXT in the same colour and can’t wait to wear it together.”
Another described it as ‘such good value’, adding: “Looks more expensive than it is and the khaki colour is beautiful. Bought it for school as I’m a teacher but kept it for my everyday wardrobe instead.”
