A new pub opening on Hope Street is almost ready to welcome customers.
The White Hart will have six rotating cask ales and a beer garden. Its aesthetic is considered 'Dickensian' and the main bar has been created over the past eight weeks. The front fascia, formerly the back of a 19th-century church pew, was provided by Taylor's classic furniture. A range of taxidermy animals are displayed around the venue including ferrets, goats and deer heads.

The White Hart previously teased its opening as "towards the end of this month" but a new post revealed it may be sooner than expected. Sharing an image of the bar on Instagram, the pub said: "We are nearly done. Maybe another 10-14 days before we open our lovely Georgian quarter Georgian door. Getting exciting now."
The pub is one of two new arrivals in the area. The Engineer, described as the "ultimate backstreet boozer", will be located on Arrad Street, sharing an entrance point with the White Hart's beer garden.
The venue is a cask ale pub emphasising sourcing rotationally from local brewers, along with a range of whiskeys. The Engineer is housed in the former coach house and most recently a large commercial kitchen. It opts for a post-apocalyptic aesthetic set in the mid-20th century.
