New France travel warning as UK Foreign Office says ‘make sure’

The Foreign Office has updated its guidance for anyone planning to travel to France in the coming months.

The Government department regularly amends its advice for people travelling abroad and on Tuesday, July 25, a new alert was issued for people planning to visit France in September or October of this year.

It comes ahead of the Rugby World Cup, which will be hosted in cities such as Bordeaux, Lille, and Nice from Friday, September 8, to Saturday, October 28.

A Gov.uk update reads: "If you are travelling to attend the tournament:

The Foreign Office also suggests people get "appropriate travel insurance and check it covers all your activities and places you intend to visit", and adds: "Check when your passport expires. In most European countries it must be valid for 3 months after you leave that country".
