A mum made a frightening discovery as she went to put her son into a trolley seat in Morrisons.
Chloe Thomas, 22, was out shopping with her two-year-old daughter and son, who is ten-months-old, when she made a "frightening" discovery as she approached the trollies at the Stoke-on-Trent supermarket on November 3. Chloe, who lives in Staffordshire, found a blade, the same one used in utility knives, attached to the front hook of the trolley with a metal ring.
Chloe told BirminghamLive she feared a child could have ended up in hospital had she not spotted the pointed object. Chloe flagged up the incident with security at the Festival Way store and they announced they were going to do a "full search" on all of the store's other trolleys.

Chloe said: "I felt disgusted and frightened, not only for my children but for other children. Some parents don’t give it a thought and just put their children in the trolleys for a quick shop.
"But that could instantly turn into a hospital trip with serious injuries. You can tell it was deliberate as well.
"I took it into security then they said they was going to do a full trolley search on all trolleys."
A Morrison's spokesperson said: "It is incredibly irresponsible that someone has done this. After the store was made aware, the blade was removed immediately and we are being extra-vigilant on checking our trollies."
