Molly Mae Hague has explained how she was “utterly fooled” by Tommy Fury who kept his marriage proposal to her a surprise.
The couple, who met on the 2019 series of Love Island, announced their engagement yesterday to their millions of fans in an Instagram video. On Sunday, the pair shared a portrait black and white video, in which Fury, cradling their baby, can be seen getting down on one knee to propose with a backdrop of the sea. The clip was given the caption: "Forever. 23/07/23."
Now Molly-Mae has revealed the efforts Tommy went to to keep the proposal a secret. She believed she was attending a ‘brand event’, which seemingly had a series of attendees and a note in the hotel room from the company.

The pair had even waved goodbye to their baby Bambi for the evening. Molly couldn’t believe what came next.
In a series of posts to her Instagram story, Molly-Mae said: “Just before leaving for a ‘brand event’ we’d both been invited to…fake invites, fake emails, notes in the hotel room from the brand, everyone playing along so unbelievably well…I’ve never known a surprise to be pulled off like this. I was COMPLETELY and utterly fooled.”
Molly-Mae began to realise “all was not what it seemed” when, as they pulled up to the event, Tommy “ran off” and she was handed a letter. After walking down a very steep hill, Molly-Mae saw Tommy and Bambi, along with her favourite musician RuthAnne performing.
Praising Tommy’s efforts, she said: “He couldn’t have made the moment any more perfect. Flying my glam team over, my videographers, my favourite singer…I can’t get over it.” Molly-Mae then shared an adorable picture of Tommy and Bambi with the caption: “In our little engagement bubble with our girl. I can’t wait for forever with you.”
