A yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in place for Merseyside after a day or traffic "chaos".
The Met Office weather warning started at 12pm today and lasts until 12pm tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18. The warning tells the public to expect roads and railways to be affected by the weather and icy patches on pavements and cycle paths.
Today's weather caused traffic "chaos" for motorists in the city as multiple crashes were reported. Liverpool ECHO readers complained about south Liverpool in particular, including Smithdown Road and Penny Lane, to name a few.

Leader of the Lib Dems and opposition in Liverpool, councillor Richard Kemp said: "Both approaches to the Penny Lane Bridge are basically glassed over and nigh on impossible to get over. This has pushed congestion on to the side roads as people try to avoid the congestion.
"The road is so dangerous that we must either cut it off completely or arrange regular salting and gritting to try and minimise the problems."
On social media, many Liverpool residents took to Twitter to complain about the lack of grit on the roads. Claire @cfitz83 said: "Thanks for endangering lives this morning by not making the roads safe Liverpool council #wheresthegrit ?! Smithdown Road is a disaster area."
A spokesperson for Liverpool City Council said: "We're aware the morning commute has been difficult due to icy conditions. Gritters were out till 9pm and again this morning. Quad bikes also sprayed the city centre from 10pm. However, localised showers turning to ice caused an issue. Please take care."
Liverpool City Council has confirmed gritters will be out on the roads twice before Wednesday morning and grit bins have been assessed and restocked.
The Met Office has warned people in Liverpool to expect wintery showers, along with some clear spells on Tuesday evening. Temperatures will stay between two and three degrees overnight.
A spokesperson said: "Wintry showers with some clear spells these likely falling as snow at times, especially over high ground. Showers easing overnight and becoming mostly dry by dawn. Remaining windy, mainly around coasts and across higher ground.
"Maximum temperature 6C."
