The Met Office has given an update on if people will be able to see the Northern Lights in the North West tonight.
People across the UK were amazed as they were able to enjoy a stunning natural light display in the sky on Sunday and Monday night. People across the North West saw huge green skies on Sunday, February 26, with a smaller display being visible late on Monday, February 27.
The Northern Lights are usually most visible near the Earth's magnetic north and south poles, but clear skies led to the beautiful lights being seen as far south as Cornwall. However, the Met Office has given an updated forecast as geomagnetic activity starts to ease.

An update on their Twitter page read: "Geomagnetic activity is starting to ease with the chances of seeing the Aurora at lower latitudes reducing. Northern Scotland is the most favoured area to see the Northern Lights again tonight, with western parts most likely to have clear skies."
But what does this mean for the North West? One woman messaged the Met Office team to ask if she would be able to see the Northern Lights in Chester.
The Met Office responded: "The occurrence of Northern Lights tonight is much less likely than last night, and cloud is expected across Chester tonight."
