An urgent warning has been issued to everyone enjoying the warm weather.
As the bank holiday brings some spring sunshine, many people will be making the most of the warm weather outdoors. With temperatures set to continue, a warning has been issued.
Emergency Services are urging people to be responsible when it comes to open waters. Issuing life-saving advice, officers from Merseyside Police and Merseyside fire service say there have been a number of fatalities across the UK.

The Wirral Policing team said on social media: "In warm weather we all enjoy a dip in the water but please be aware of the risks, there have been a number of fatalities across the UK this week in open bodies of water."
Merseyside Fire also issued important advice as they said: "It’s getting warmer out there. If you, or someone you live with, is spending time near water this weekend – please remember or pass on this lifesaving advice."
Top tips included not entering the water yourself if you see someone in difficulty. Sudden immersion can lead to cold water shock – water is cold, even on warm days, instead, dial 999 and use any rescue equipment available.
When at the coast, ask for the coastguard, if inland, ask for the fire and rescue service. If however you do fall into the water unexpectedly, fight your instinct to thrash around, instead, float to live. Lean back, extend your arms and legs and float.
It comes after several incidents involving people getting into difficulties in open waters. Cumbria Police confirmed on Saturday that the body of a teenage boy has been located in the River Eden in Carlisle.
The body was found in the river near to the Rosehill area shortly after 1.30pm following an extensive multi-agency search operation in response to an incident where a group of teenage boys had got into difficulty in the River Eden. One of the group, a 15-year-old from Carlisle, was missing following the incident.
Chief Superintendent Lisa Hogan, Cumbria Constabulary, said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the 15-year-old boy at this difficult time. An extensive search operation has taken place since the incident was reported yesterday evening. The search activity was assisted by emergency services, search and rescue teams, and specialist search professionals from Cumbria and from outside the county."
Police were contacted at 6:41pm yesterday to reports four teenage boys had gotten into difficulty in the river near to the Rosehill area of Carlisle. A 14 year-old boy, who was airlifted to hospital yesterday, remains in a critical condition.
One of the group managed to swim to safety, while another was rescued safely by a member of the public. Both were checked over by medical professionals, police confirmed.
