Man taken to hospital after air ambulance lands in Morrisons car park

A man was taken to hospital after an air ambulance was forced to land in Morrisons car park.

An air ambulance and road ambulance were called to Morrisons in Southport town centre at around 10.30am today (Friday, April 14) after reports a man had suffered a leg injury.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed paramedics rushed to the scene at the supermarket before the man was taken to Southport and Formby District Hospital.

A spokesperson for NWAS told LancsLive: "We were called to Morrisons Supermarket in which a male sustained a leg injury in which the air ambulance and road ambulance attended.

"The road ambulance transported the patient to Southport and Formby Hospital."
