A man and a woman suffered serious injuries after a car ploughed into two pedestrians by Queen Square bus station.
The incident took place at around 3.50pm this afternoon, close to the Royal Court Theatre on Roe Street in Liverpool City Centre. Pictures from the scene showed a car which had come to rest with its boot against the theatre building.
The two victims were both taken to hospital after sustaining a "serious head injury", according to Merseyside Police.

Police officers, crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics were all visible working within the cordoned area.
