A branch of Lloyds bank was cordoned off by police.
Images taken by an ECHO photographer show a cordon has been put in place at the banking giant's branch in Kirkby. Several police vehicles and officers were seen on Cherryfield Drive throughout Sunday morning.
The ECHO understands police have been there since around 10pm on Saturday evening, January 20, and were still at the scene on Sunday afternoon. A cordon was in place around the branch, however it did not appear as if anywhere else was blocked off.

Scientific support was also seen at the scene. A number of people have taken to social media to question why emergency services have been at the bank.
The ECHO has approached Lloyds bank and Merseyside Police for more information on the nature of the incident. We will bring you further updates as and when we get them.
