Liverpool John Lennon Airport offers flights to one of the "cheapest" cities in Europe.
Warsaw in Poland has been named the fifth-most affordable destination in Europe for a couple's getaway, according to a new study. Travel company Jersey Island Holidays has looked at costs for flights, accommodation and meals, coming up with the continent's cheapest destinations.
It found the cheapest city in Europe for a two-day holiday for two people is Podgorica, with the average price of a two-day trip to Montenegro’s capital city found to be £222.03. However, the city cannot be reached by flights from Liverpool Airport.

Warsaw is the first destination on the list to which you can fly direct from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Both Ryanair and Wizz Air fly to the city, which the study says a couple's two-day trip would cost £326.96.
The study included the average price of two return flights, two nights’ accommodation, a three-course dinner for two at a mid-range restaurant, as well as some activities.
According to Skyscanner, one person flying from Liverpool on April 20 and returning from Warsaw on April 22 with Ryanair would cost £56.32 in total. The average price of a pint of beer in a 'neighbourhood pub' is £2.33.
The study says a taxi in Warsaw for the two days would only cost £5. Excursions start from only £8 and restaurants will be £34 on average for food and people would spend £12 for alcohol.
There is also plenty to do in the city once you arrive. A picturesque city on the banks of Vistula River, Warsaw boasts a wide range of beautiful architecture, with almost every style represented – including gothic, renaissance, baroque, neoclassical, social realist and contemporary.
The skyline is marked by a number of skyscrapers, including the 231m tall Palace of Culture & Science. There's also plenty of history, with an elegant Royal Castle and a museum for the Warsaw Rising on the edge of the former ghetto.
The city can also offer a good nightlife scene, with plenty of bars and pubs. Tygmont Live Club is a jazz hot spot.
Ryanair flies from Liverpool to Warsaw Modlin Airport and Wizz Air flies to Warsaw Chopin, both offering a number of flights through the week.
