The emergency services are responding to an "ongoing emergency incident" in Liverpool city centre this evening.
A large cordon is in place around Queen Square bus station, with police officers, fire and rescue crews and paramedics in attendance. One vehicle appears to be behind a screen with emergency workers examining something at the scene.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said he could not confirm the details of the incident but said it is an "ongoing emergency situation" and officers are "working to establish the circumstances".
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said the police are leading on the incident.

Police statement in full
Merseyside Police have confirmed the incident involved two pedestrians being struck by a car.
This is the force's full statement:
"Officers remain on Queen Square in Liverpool after a collision this afternoon (Sunday 29 October).
At around 3.50pm we received a report of a collision involving a blue SEAT Ateca and two pedestrians near the bus station.
A man and a woman who sustained a serious head injury after the collision have both been taken to hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
The bus stop on Queen Square is closed whilst emergency services remain at the scene.
