A new Jurgen Klopp themed bar and hotel is set to be built in the shadow of Anfield Stadium.
Developers have received planning permission to redevelop a block on the corner of Oakfield Road and will be situated only a matter of metres away from the Reds’ home ground. Paying homage to Liverpool’s current manager and famous nerve centre for much of the club’s successes in the 70s and 80s, Jurgen Klopp’s Boot Room Bar and Guest House will revive a former bar and feature six hotel rooms following work on an extension.
Situated next to The Sandon and behind the petrol station on the corner of Walton Breck Road and Oakfield Road, the development will involve a change of use on the ground floor from a barber shop to a bar with the construction of a new first and second floor side extension.

Plans will also see a reconfiguration of the existing upper floor guest rooms and the construction of a new third floor. The guest house will feature six hotel rooms in total and a ground floor bar facing out onto Oakfield Road and the adjoining Houlding Street.
The premises was previously home to Klopp’s Boot Room Bar which was opened in 2016 and closed in 2020 when redevelopment plans were first earmarked. The developers, Fast Growth Homes, said that there was always the “ambition” to expand the business with the first planning application submitted in 2021.
With planning permission now approved, the developers told the ECHO that workers will be on site from next week. It is hoped that the new bar and hotel will be completed in time for the new Premier League season.
The developers hope to deliver "a unique hotel and café bar" which will offer match day food and drinks including a 'Klopp Dog' and traditional steins of "foaming golden pilsner". The team behind the project said Coffee and pastries will also be served from the bar area and are keen for the Reds manager to "call in for Kaffee and Kirschtorte."
Fast Growth Homes are also looking to bring forward a scheme in Kirkdale. This would be a 50 bed themed hotel called The Atlantic near to the new Bramley Moore Stadium.
A spokesperson for Fast Growth Homes said: “This is an exciting boutique development by Fast Growth Homes leisure group which was previously run by the company at the Oakfield Road property, since 2015, which is in the shadow of Anfield stadium.
"The local planning authority have worked proactively with our Architects, Atelier 2 on this scheme, and the original Victorian façade will be carefully restored. A traditional shop glazed frontage is proposed, with contemporary awnings in club colours. Special attention has been made to ensure that all bedrooms are fully wheelchair accessible, and a new lift is to be installed.
