Katie Price enjoyed a proud family moment as she arrived at the National Diversity Awards.

The 11th edition of the event was held at the Anglican Cathedral tonight and celebrated the achievement of the positive role models who have promoted equality in today's society. Katie arrived at the event alongside three of her children, Princess, Bunny and Jett.

The mum-of-five told the ECHO how special it was to be able to involve her children with an event that celebrates people who have made a positive difference in society. She said: "It's nice to bring the family along and introduce the family to what it's all about.

"When they read the screen when they give out the awards, it will make them think." Katie handed out an award alongside her daughter, Princess, but joked another member of the family may also be joining them on stage.

She said: "Bunny is trying to get on stage because she loves it so we'll see what happens." Katie has attended two previous National Diversity Awards and said it promotes a cause close to her heart.

She said: "It's so important that everyone here should be accepted for who they are. There's amazing stories and it's an amazing event.

"There's people here who work with charities, people with complex needs who do a lot and deserve to win awards." Katie's eldest son, Harvey suffers from Prader-Will syndrome and was scheduled to hand out an award at tonight's event but she sadly revealed he was unable to make it to the ceremony.

She said: "His ear is playing up. His ears are really sensitive so I've come up with Princess, Jett and Bunny. Junior is on his school tour and Harvey is at his college."

The 45-year-old attended the awards last year with her head bandaged after undergoing surgery. She admitted she much preferred her outfit this year. Katie broke her feet in a horror fall three years ago and revealed this is one of the reasons why she donned Balenciaga Crocs for tonight's ceremony. Detailing her outfit, she said: "Not everyone's a fan of these Balenciaga Crocs.

"But they're comfy because I broke my feet. Palm Angels belt, a Boohoo dress." She was in hysterics as she added: "And surgeons that have done all my face."

Katie admitted it would be an early night for the family but was excited to return to Liverpool as she will be starring in a pantomime of Sleeping Beauty at the M&S Bank Arena from December 16 – 30.

She said: "I can't wait. I'm looking forward to it because in a few weeks I'll be back here for rehearsals."
