A beauty queen says she's "flattered" to be compared to future Queen Kate Middleton after being crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2023.

Jessica Page, 27, a marketing manager and entrepreneur from Liverpool was awarded the title on Saturday, July 8, following a competition in South Wales. The evening included a confidence boosting empowerment day, a Bring A Bra Ball for charity, a festival evening with photoshoots, a catwalk show, and a firewalk.

She will now start preparing to represent Great Britain at this year’s Miss Universe in El Salvador along with women from around 90 other countries. This was Jess’s third attempt at the crown having competed previously in 2016, when she placed in the top five, and later in 2019 when she was unplaced.

Her third time lucky outcome has prompted Jess to encourage other girls never to give up on their dreams.

She said: “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.”

Jessica is often described by many as a Kate Middleton lookalike, and when asked about this she said: “Who wouldn’t be flattered by being compared to our amazing future Queen.”

Jess is a graduate with an events degree from The University of Chester. She has a full time job as a marketing manager and is also the owner of an up-and-coming dessert business at the same time as working as a freelance social media executive in the food and drinks industry.

She is also setting up an all-women networking group and runs a campaign called "Take Her Lead" which aims to help young people start their own businesses.

Jessica said: “I love business and am fulfilling my entrepreneurial drive with the recent launch of my own company. It’s not something that was really encouraged when I was in school and I am hoping that through Take Her Lead, I can introduce more young women to the ideas of being their own boss.”

In the run up to the final, Jessica and the other Miss Universe Great Britain 2023 finalists were tasked with fundraising for A-Sisterhood – a not-for-profit organisation which helps a number of local and international charities which support, protect and empower women both in the UK and overseas.

Jessica will visit India in September with A-Sisterhood to donate to Stop Acid Attacks – a charity which helps survivors of acid violence get medical treatment.

National director of Miss Universe Great Britain, Paula Abbandonato, said: “I am delighted for Jessica and wish her the very best for Miss Universe. To keep trying even after being disappointed by not winning twice before is testimony to her strength and determination.

"It’s a great message for us as a feminist leaning organisation and I hope she has the best time this year after wanting it, working for it and waiting for it for so long.”
