A new holiday destination has been announced for summer 2024 from Liverpool's John Lennon Airport.
Earlier this year the travel operator announced it will be expanding to Liverpool from next March. Destinations on offer included mainland Spain, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Portugal, Madeira and Cyprus
Now, in response to huge demand, Jet2holidays has expanded and is now offering holidays to a new Greek island. Routes to Symi will be on sale for next summer.

Holidaymakers will be able to access this new destination from Liverpool John Lennon Airport between May 2 and October 31 via Rhodes Airport. There will be up to two weekly services (Monday and Thursday) operating during peak periods to Rhodes.
On arrival into Rhodes Airport, customers will receive accommodation in Rhodes for the first night of their holiday before continuing their journey to Symi the following day via ferry crossing, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. After arriving in Symi, customers will be transported from the port to their chosen accommodation.
Symi is part of the Dodecanese islands, known for its beaches, harbour at Symi Town and surrounded by colourful, authentic Greek houses tumbling down the hillside.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: "As the UK’s largest tour operator, our first Summer 24 programme from Liverpool John Lennon Airport is already jam-packed full of choice and flexibility and has proved incredibly popular. Given the strong demand we are seeing, we are delighted to be expanding our enormous programme even more and adding Symi to our Jet2holidays’ portfolio from the airport.
"Greece is proving to be a popular choice of holiday destination for next summer, so we have no doubt that this new addition will be much sought-after by customers and independent travel agents in Merseyside. As well as being able to access this island for the first time with Jet2holidays, holidaymakers will also be able to enjoy the many benefits of booking a package holiday with an award-winning airline and tour operator.
"It is for this reason, and our reputation of delivering a VIP customer service, that we are confident that our package holidays to Symi will be a huge success from Liverpool John Lennon Airport."
The company will operate to five destinations in Greece (Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Kos, Rhodes and Zante) from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Paul Winfield, Aviation Director at LJLA added: "It’s not long now before we see the start of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ operations from Liverpool at the end of March next year, with 20 destinations and four Jet2.com aircraft based here, so it’s even better to hear that the region’s holidaymakers have the opportunity to head off to another new destination with Jet2holidays and with the added convenience of being able to fly from Liverpool, enjoying our faster, easier, friendlier customer experience.
"The chance to go on holiday from Liverpool with Jet2holidays for the first time is clearly proving to be a big hit with travellers from across the North West and we look forward to welcoming passengers travelling to Symi along with all the other destinations that Jet2holidays feature from here."
