I'm a huge fan of winged eyeliner – believe me.
In fact, I very rarely leave the house without my eyeliner on, unless I'm going to the gym or popping to the shop. To be honest, I actually feel quite bare when I don't wear it- which is why I'm always on the look out for the best product that's going to help me achieve a strong flick.
Whenever someone asks me what eyeliner I use, they're often shocked that it's not a particularly fancy or expensive product. The Maybelline Master Ink Satin/Matte/Waterproof eyeliner will always be my go to, because it never lets me down.

The eyeliner
What I love about this eyeliner, is the fact that it's simple and effective. There are no frills, no weird brushes to apply it, and it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Of course, like anything, a perfect wing takes practice and even I, after years of wearing eyeliner can often make mistakes. But the good thing about this eyeliner, is the fact that it's quite forgiving when it comes to a wobbly wing.
There have been so many times that I've messed up a wing, but managed to save it with the precise brush that comes with the Maybelline eyeliner. I've got a real love hate relationship with liquid eyeliner brushes, but this one is the perfect combination of thin and precise.
The brush isn't too wobbly or soft, but it's not too hard so you can glide it to create your flick. My favourite formula of this eyeliner is the 'Satin' one, as it has a slight shine, but I haven't been able to find it in store for months.
I find that the 'Matte' formula creates slight smudging after you've worn it for a few hours, but the 'Matte Waterproof' is much better and seems to stay in place for hours.
The pros
- The precise brush
- It stays in place for hours
- The black shade is very bold
The cons
- Some may find the eyeliner too bold
- The 'Matte' formula does crumble if you layer it
- You need strong makeup remover to get it off
You can purchase my current Maybelline 'Matte Waterproof' eyeliner from Amazon here for £6.
