Huw Edwards has been named as the BBC news reader facing allegations over payments for sexually explicit images.
Mr Edward's wife, Vicky Flind, released a statement on behalf of her husband and family naming him as the presenter facing allegations over payments for sexually explicit images in a statement issued on his behalf.
In her statement, Vicky Flind said her husband Huw Edwards was "suffering from serious mental health issues" and is now "receiving in-patient hospital care where he will stay for the foreseeable future" as she asked for privacy for her family.
