Crowds of people were waiting outside fish and chip shops across Merseyside, marking the start of the Easter weekend.
It’s tradition to eat fish on the Friday of the Easter weekend, and the huge queues seen at chippies across the region today showed many familied still follow the tradition. Steve's chippy on Ashfield Road in Aigburth had a huge queue as the sun shone down on a warm Good Friday.
As well as queues for fish and chips, people enjoying the sun on Southport beach queued for ice cream as they enjoyed the bank holiday weather.

Temperatures in Liverpool are predicted to be higher than parts of Greece over the Easter weekend. Merseyside will experience warmth of up to 16C, according to BBC forecasters, while the likes of Kastoria in Southern Greece will only reach 10C.
Forecasters predict that the region will have clear skies, meaning temperatures will continue to rise until Easter Sunday, on April 9. However cloud is set to creep in on the Sunday, despite it warming up.
The BBC outlook for Sunday to Tuesday reads: "Largely cloudy on Sunday with a few brighter spells in the morning. Windy with more in the way of cloud in the afternoon with rain moving in during the evening and overnight.
"Monday will be breezy with a mix of sunny spells, variable cloud and blustery showers. Tuesday will be dry and bright at first. Turning cloudy later on with heavy rain and strong winds in the evening."
