A four-year-old girl made a heartwarming gesture to her devastated mum after she lost her engagement ring.

Molly Barton from Wavertree was out with her boss in Albert Schloss, Bold Street, on Tuesday, January 31, when she noticed her engagement ring was no longer on her finger. She quickly looked back and checked a picture she had taken in the bar and restaurant's photobooth earlier that night, and saw it was on her finger then.

Molly and her boss then checked around the whole place until they left when the bar closed. The 31-year-old said she was "absolutely devastated" and "just wants the ring back".

She told The ECHO: "It [the ring] had been spinning around my finger for a little bit, so I'm not sure if it's fallen off while I was washing my hands and I didn't notice. We checked everywhere we could and retraced our steps but we couldn't find it anywhere.

"I called back the next day, and the day after that, I asked my brother who is a chef there to have a look around and I have posted about it and asked all my friends and family too. I'm absolutely heartbroken and devastated."

Molly said the ring means so much to her as it's the second one she had received from her partner, Christian.

She said: "Me and my partner got engaged quite quickly after meeting and money was a little bit tight then so I had a cheaper ring, and it broke. We then went through a rocky patch because I was struggling with anxiety and my mental health and started pushing everyone away, including him.

"When I was better he got me the new ring and it just felt like a fresh start for us."

Molly's ring is a pear shaped tanzanite stone surrounded by diamonds, chosen by her partner as it is the official gemstone of the month they met – December. After she lost the ring Molly said she's been getting upset while at home with her four-year-old daughter, Penelope.

Molly said: "She's been asking me why I'm so upset and I told her it was because I lost my ring. The next day she came home with a jelly ring for me to wear.

"It was so lovely but it did make me a little more upset if I'm being honest. I know some people think 'it's just a ring' but as I said it's more than that."

Molly says she believes she lost the ring between 7pm and 8pm on Tuesday and is asking anybody with information to come forward if they know where it is.
