A new pub, self-explained as a post-apocalyptic 20th-century venue, is opening in Liverpool's city centre.
The Engineer on Arrad Street provides cask ales, sourced from local brewers, and a range of whiskeys.
It opts for a "post-apocalyptic" aesthetic set in the mid-20th century, with exposed brickwork, worn woodwork, decorative items from that period and a dark, cold interior made with intent.

The pub will share an entrance point with The White Hart's beer garden, another new arrival opening on Hope Street. The White Hart is themed around Charles Dickens' novels, opting for a similar contemporary yet worn-down aesthetic.
The Engineer opens on Arrad St on Thursday, January 18, at midday.
