Fire service issue warning to neighbours after blaze at derelict building
Fire crews urged people to avoid the area
Drone footage has revealed the extent of a fire at a derelict building in Liverpool.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Everton Road at around 11.40am on January 31 following reports of a fire. Crews were on the scene at 11.45am.
Four fire engines and an aerial appliance tackled the blaze as crews arrived to find a three-storey derelict building on fire. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered under rapid deployment and began fighting the fire with one hose reel jet.

The incident had been sectorised and the fire was externally using the aerial appliance. On Wednesday afternoon, the service said: "The incident is ongoing and there are road closures and a cordon in place, so please avoid the area.
"Residents and businesses nearby should close windows and doors. If you have an existing health condition, keep medicines nearby and if any ill effects occur dial NHS 111 for advice."
As of 5.15pm, the fire service confirmed three fire engines were at the scene. They added: "The use of breathing apparatus has ceased and crews are carrying out checks for hotspots and damping down as necessary. A cordon remains in place."
A cordon remained in place and traffic was building as buses were diverted. Pictures show crews at the scene on Wednesday as they tackled the blaze.
