A witness who had what she describes as a "fling" with murder accused Thomas Cashman has ordered his barrister to "do as you're told" in court.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, previously claimed to jurors Cashman came to her home on the night Olivia Pratt-Korbel was killed and alleged that he asked her for a change of clothes.

The schoolgirl died after being shot in the chest in her own home on Kingsheath Avenue in Dovecot on the evening of August 22 last year. Cashman, 34 and of Grenadier Drive in West Derby, denies any involvement in the shooting.

A trial, held at Manchester Crown court, is now into its second week. Earlier on Monday John Cooper, KC, defending, accused the woman of lying to the police about her relationship with Cashman.

She replied that she hadn't lied, because at the time they were not sleeping together. Later, Mr Cooper asked the woman how she felt about Cashman during their brief relationship.

The witness said: “I’ve admitted to everything. I admitted I was obsessed with him, I liked him a lot I lusted for him. Fire away."

Mr Cooper replied: "This isn't a game you know" before the judge told him to ask his question, and the woman told him: "It sounds like a game to me, you just need to do as you're told".

Later in proceedings Justice Yip intervened and called for a short break to "cool things down".

As well as denying Olivia's murder, Cashman denies the attempted murder of Joseph Nee, as well as wounding Cheryl Korbel with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm. He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, namely a 9mm calibre self-loading pistol and a 0.3 calibre revolver.

The jury have been told they must decide on the evidence whether Cashman was the gunman who fired those shots at the three victims.

The trial continues.
