Three drug dealers were caught after a BMW was spotted travelling thousands of miles in the space of four months.

Daryl Husbands, 35, Charlie Blackwell, 33, and David Klec, 34, of Thetford, Norfolk, came to the attention of police after a BMW was spotted making nine separate trips between Thetford and Liverpool. The trips happened between March and June 2021, with Klec meeting his co-accused to exchange large packages on his return to Norfolk.

Police raided Blackwell’s home on August 2021 where Husbands and Blackwell were found with a compressed block of cocaine with a street value of around £100,000. Mobile phone analysis confirmed contact between all three defendants as well as the journeys made to Liverpool.

Blackwell and Husbands also pled guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, namely cannabis. Blackwell further admitted to possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance, namely nitrous oxide canisters.

Husbands also pled guilty to possession of a psychoactive substance, namely nitrous oxide canisters. The three men were jailed at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, December 15. Husbands was jailed for six years and nine months, Blackwell received a six year sentence while Klec was jailed for three years.

David Klec, 34, was jailed for three years

Investigating officer DC Daniel Rayner said: “These are significant sentences that illustrate our zero-tolerance approach towards drug supply. We are committed to disrupting those who choose to distribute drugs in our county.

"I hope this sentence acts as a deterrent to anyone who may choose to involve themselves in this type of criminal activity.”
