Over the next two months, there will be five bank holidays for people across England, Scotland and Wales to enjoy.

Knowing ahead of time the bank holidays taking place in the UK is a good way to plan time off and use the dates to your advantage.

In addition to the usual bank holidays, King Charles III's coronation will give Britons an extra day off in May. There are eight bank holidays in total remaining this year.

If a bank holiday is on a weekend, a ‘substitute’ weekday becomes a bank holiday, normally the following Monday.

It's important to know that your employer does not have to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays. Bank holidays may also affect how and when your benefits are paid.
