Concerns were raised after children were reportedly spotted playing in a dilapidated building that's "ready to collapse".
Young people have allegedly been gathering in the old Conservative Club in Earle Street, Newton-le-Willows according to concerned members of the public. The building has been out of use for several years and is in a visible state of decay.
Local councillor Terry Maguire expressed concerns over the building after being informed of the gatherings, claiming the children are in "immense danger".

Cllr Maguire claims the building has since been secured, he said: "I have been made aware of the old Conservative club building in Earle Street being very dangerous. The worrying issue appears to be youths gathering at night in the back of the building. This puts them in immense danger as the building is in a very dangerous condition.
"I have now reported this to the council and the police. Thank you to John at Council building control for his help in this matter, he sent a team to secure the back gates this afternoon."
Several neighbours also shared their concerns. Phil Thompson said: "Looks like it's a matter of urgency to be made safe ASAP. Before someone's kid gets hurt or worse. Hope the owners act quickly."
Jenny Toole added: "Oh my god it looks like it could cave in any minute that, so dangerous!"
St Helens Borough Council was approached for comment.
