Police officers investigating a brutal attack on a woman that saw her punched several times in the face have released a picture of a man.
The British Transport Police (BTP) said the force received reports a woman travelling on a Merseyrail service was punched several times in the face by a stranger shortly before 10.50pm on Saturday, August 19. The suspect fled the train as it arrived at Liverpool James Street station.
Officers investigating the assault have now released a CCTV image in connection. Detectives believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could help with their investigations.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2300097746. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
