We are now well into day two of the Grand National 2023 with racegoers looking incredible albeit underneath a grey and drizzly sky.

Thankfully, there are plenty of pops of colour among the crowd, with ladies and gents pulling out all the stops to look their best.

Every year people spend weeks, or months, planning their jaw-dropping outfits for the big day, with trends changing with each Grand National Festival.

As you'd expect, Ladies Day has seen some particularly impressive outfits, and the stand out ones had something in common. While there was plenty of florals, as you'd imagine for a spring event, many women opted for outfits with feather details.

Ahead of the big day, dress designer Francesca Kearns told the ECHO her customers had been drawn to “feathers, frills, and huge bows" this year, and it seems she was spot on.

Our reporters and photographers are live on the ground at Aintree, and it's safe to say they've seen some incredible outfits. Everyone has made a huge effort and it really shows.
