A person has died after being found on train tracks in Widnes.
Emergency services were called to Widnes railways station, at around 10.45am on Friday, January 5. At the scene they confirmed that they found a person on the train tracks.
Paramedics attended to carry out medical treatment but the person was pronounced dead. British Transport Police has confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

National Rail is reporting that services are disrupted due to the police incident. There is no service on Transpennine Express, East Midlands Railway and Northern between Liverpool Lime Street and Warrington Central due to emergency services dealing with the incident at Widnes.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Widnes railway station at around 10.45am today (5 January) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
