A 'big music executive' told Meghan Trainor no one would play her music if she was a mum.

The All About That Bass singer revealed that she warned off having children in an interview on the Workin' On It podcast, which she hosts alongside her brother Ryan Trainor. The pair discuss a variety of issues on their podcast, including Meghan's experiences as a new mother.

Meghan Trainor and her partner Daryl Sabara welcomed their first baby back at the start of 2021. Since then, they have announced that Meghan is pregnant with their second child, while her newest album, which features songs like Made You Look, her first UK Top Ten single since 2015.

Her new album also features her newest single, Mother, with a music video featuring a performance from Kris Jenner. In an Instagram post promoting the song, she said: "I wrote this song for all the silly men in the world who have tried to tell me what kind of songs I should write, what career choices I should make, and have talked down to me like I have no idea what I'm doing… and that having a baby would end my career."

On the podcast, Meghan said: "I was told years ago by a big executive dude in the music industry, like 'oh they won't play you if you're a mom, they won't play your songs'. And I was like 'all I want to do is be a mom'!"

In response, Ryan said: "That's so wild. MILFs are in guys".

People in the comments were quick to support Meghan. One person said: "She was meant to be a star and a mom" and another said: "Just proving mamas can do anything they want.. and killlll it".

Others compared her to other big name popstars who have had children. One person said: "It's true look at Katy Perry", another said: "They said that about Pink as well", and third said: "Beyoncé, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Cardi B…. He doesn’t know his business. Also Moms spend so much time in the car."
