BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Amanda Abbington will not attend the final

After exiting the competition early, Strictly Come Dancing star Amanda Abbington will not be attending the final.

The 51-year-old will not be back for the glamorous final show, after she withdrew due to "personal reasons". She thanked the production team and "everyone on Strictly" in her statement.

Following her message to social media, Giovanni posted to Instagram to address his sadness after his time in the competition was cut short, the Mirror reports. In a statement, a BBC spokesperson said: "Amanda decided to withdraw from the competition, therefore she will not be returning for the final."

The highly anticipated Strictly Come Dancing 2023 final will see Ellie Leach, Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams all dancing it out for the Glitterball this weekend. All the eliminated stars are set to return to the competition for one big final party.

A statement from the BBC had also been read out by It Takes Two host Fleur East, which read: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.

"The show wishes her all the best for the future." In a statement to the Mirror, a BBC spokesperson said: "Amanda decided to withdraw from the competition, therefore she will not be returning for the final."

The Final of BBC Strictly Come Dancing will be aired on BBC One tonight, December 16 at 7pm. The remaining couples will perform three routines in the hopes of being crowned the 2023 winner and lifting the Glitterball Trophy.
