Liverpool fans couldn’t believe what they were hearing as the BBC’s coverage of the third round FA Cup replay against Wolves was interrupted by what seemed to be a porn noise prank.

Gary Lineker and pundits Paul Ince and Danny Murphy were in the studio building up to the replay at Molineux, with around 10 minutes to go until kick-off.

But just as Lineker prepared to speak to fellow pundit Alan Shearer on the gantry, he was interrupted by what sounded like pornographic groans.

Lineker and Shearer carried on regardless, although the noise continued, much to the embarrassment of the Match of the Day presenter.

He handled the disruption well though, despite being forced to say: "I don't know who is making that noise."

And the incident certainly did not go unnoticed by supporters, who took to social media in disbelief as to what they were hearing – many will be hoping Liverpool can bring them as much pleasure and turn the season around.

Plenty of Reds commented about the hilarious incident on social media, with one saying: "That’s one way to boost the ratings for an FA Cup third round replay."

Another added: "Most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed on live tele" while a third posted: "That has to make no.1 Funny TV moments 2023 I don't care."
